Last week a friend mailed me. She re-partitioned the harddrive and accidently removed two data partitions. Since I never had this kind of problem before I did some web research and quickly found a tool that I recommend today. I was able to recover 25GB on a "lost" partition within an hour :-)
- It is called TestDisk, runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux
- Runs on the command line
- Can be run from installed Operating Systems as well as on live media such as USB stick, CD, DVD, etc.
